12 Steps for Parenting After Addiction
Parenting after addiction can be a journey filled with hope, excitement, and fun. However, there can also be struggles and challenges.
I designed these 12 steps to guide you through common struggles, offering practical tools to help you grow as both a parent and an individual in recovery. These 12 steps came from my own personal experience, my professional experience working with mothers in treatment facilities, and the experience of many (now adult) children who had the experience of having a parent enter recovery and rebuild that relationship.
During your recovery journey as a parent, these 12 steps provide tools to help you establish a stronger, healthier relationship with your children. Be patient with yourself and your family, knowing that healing is possible for all of you. You are a living example of resilience, and each step forward is a testament to your strength. Remember, recovery is a process, and so is healing your relationship with your children.
Be kind to yourself every step of the way.
